"Margaret Britton has been a friend and artistic collaborator with our studio since 1975. Her creativity, superb sence of color, and diversity of talent in painting, stained glass and Dalle De Verre make her a valuable person for both teaching and executing work in any of these mediums."

E. Crosby Willet, President Willet Stained Glass Studios, Inc. Philadelphia, PA

Margaret Britton

Most of Margaret's work is done with blown glass versus machine made glass, blown glass being far superior in the way it refracts light with its varying thickness and tiny bubbles.  The majority of this glass is made in Germany and France, and like most hand-made products, it has a superior quality.

In 1974, Margaret began her stained glass career by opening “Stained Glass Art” in Reno, Nevada. Her glass business included retailing stained glass supplies, the design and construction of windows as well as teaching the process of stained glass construction at Reno Community College.

Margaret worked for Houser Willet Studio. Willet & Houser Studios merged creating not only one of the oldest and most prestigious studios but also one of the largest in the country.

She has created stained glass and painted windows for churches on both coasts as well as the Virgin Island of St John. Her windows can also be seen in business offices in San Francisco, Reno and at the Children’s Museum in Portsmouth, NH.

Margaret is often commissioned by individuals to design pieces for private homes. She has shown both paintings and glass pieces in galleries.
